<lj:music>Death Cab for Cutie</lj:music>

Alec walked slowly in the darkness his lean body melding with the shadows around him as if he was just a wisp of darkness. His tireless search had been unfruitful , the cold weather had driven most mortal’s inside and he wasn’t about to draw a mortal man to his Penthouse or lair as many had called it. Finally reaching the alleys end the snow began slow at first but soon heavy flakes began to melt on his dark leather covered body. The weather did not hinder him, he felt not cold nor tiresome as he journeyed onward in the snow looking into the distance to find what he had been searching for this eve. As soon as dusk gathered he had fled his sanctum in search of a feast, the delicacies of a women’s body. So shapely sure pure and filled with raw emotion, how he loved their sweet flowery taste and perfectly untarnished skin, he could hardly contain his need or want, he could hardly tell anymore, they had drifted together from many a long night hunting.
Lina could hardly see in the storm that rapidly appeared, she was ill dress, soaked and cold she tried her best to see her way along. Slipping twice and nearly dropping her bag she finally found the street that led to her dorm, the storm had picked up and she could feel the cold begin to grip around her as the darkness grew. Slow and grudgingly she continued her trek to her room, content by husking,” Only a few block’s farther.”
His eyesight untroubled or hindered from the blowing storm he still could see quite far down the road. At first not sure at what he saw, he soon realized it was what he wanted. This young women out to late for her own good, looked frozen as her thin form made it’s way down the road. It surprised him for she wore very little protective clothing and imagined she must be either very hardy or increasingly foolish to be out in this weather. Alec looked around the vicinity and finding no witnesses to see his power other then the young women he walked out from his hiding spot and began his fun and her torment.
Her vision blurry from the harsh weather it took her a moment to realize that a black leather clad man has stepped in front of her. Although his appearance was increasingly handsome and his stature was almost kingly in appearance she felt threatened and slowly unable to break her gaze, tried to flee. His golden eyes seemed to pierce through the storm and even the dark, against her will they beckoned her forward, as if being with him would make him whole. Slowly she lost the power the resist an shuffled over to him and fell against his chest with no will to continue on in the weather.
Alec mumbled to himself, the girl he had brought home had been asleep for over six hours, his hunger had not waned and soon he would lose his own self control for more basic needs such as angst, lust, and maybe even envy for her perfectly framed beauty. She lay silhouetted in red silk sheets which draped off his soft luxurious bed. The flame of the fire flicker away the darkness of the room only long enough at times to unmask him from his chair near the bed. Although his need great, he would not take anyone women in anyway if they were completely unwilling or injured or as this case seemed to be extraordinarily tired. Through his best efforts to comfort her, she seemed unwilling to wake for a single moment to even find out were she was, apparently he had to learn better control for it seemed his power had faded hers more then expected. Contently he would wait until she awoke. Questions would be asked, some would be answered and a fun time would be had by all. Sitting in the quite room he grinned as the fire crackled and went out.

Her body had become warm again, she felt as if she lay in a bed of pure silk and she felt well rested, yet unsure of were she was. Total darkness engulfed her until a small crack of light was let in as a tall figure entered the room casting his shadow about the wall. As soon as his golden eyes connect with her memories of the nights previous events flooded back and she recoiled in fear. The figure only smiled held out a small stray and whispered a simple question, “Breakfast?”

She had not even felt her hungry but realized she was ravenous, yet she said nothing remaining silent in fear of this man who had abducted her. Solemnly he spoke breaking the silence, “Do not fear me, I saved you from the weather and I am sure you will have a pleasant time with me, won’t you stay for awhile young one?”
Lina nodded for that was all she could manage in her stunned state, she watched as the man came close, she noticed he was without his leather attire and only in tight fitting pants an a black button up shirt. Flinching as he sat next to her she became skittish and moved away a little at a time. Not hesitating at all he set aside the tray which contain some sort of breakfast an a pure white rose, her attention drawn to the tray she did not realize as the man began to come closer. Her gaze of the flower was broken as he mutter, “ My name is Alec and you are my dear quest?”
“L..lina”
“That is quiet an attractive name, it suits one like you so well, your are like a white rose in a black field, few remain true in beauty,” he seductively answered.
She suddenly felt hot as she began to blush at the mans words. It had been long since she had been complimented such, it had been oh so long since she had even held a man close to her, touch her, pleasure her. What was she thinking she knew nothing about this man but he was so alluring and so… arousing in his speech and actions.

I Figured that since this is my first entry I might as well post a small short story that I had to write up for class, and then later fell in love with my idea, although in my opinion I need to change the ending badly.

     "The Guild"

Valen looked up at the door. A soft rap and the sound of paper on stone were the only noises that said someone had been there. He strode over to the door and picked up a small folded letter, yet did not the door knowing that no one would be their. The letter itself was not gilded or printed on fine paper, it was a simple note that he had been waiting for for almost half his life. As he unfolded it he noticed his name printed boldly, under it in smaller print was a location and a time. He looked around his small dwelling notice that all he needed was what he had lived with the last years. He collected everything into a small pack, his tools, rope, then he pulled his cloak tight and attached his knife to his belt and off he went into the night. The guild had come he thought and he was ready. He closed the door behind him and his eyes attuned to the darkness that seemed to engulf the city. The little light that the few torches around the city gave off did nothing to fend of the dark. As he walked in the cold night air his nose filled with the numerous aromas, burning wood, cooking food, that all mixed to for the musty air of the slums of Allairy, the crown city, the jewel of the new world. He brushed his way through the crowds as he headed towards the north abbey, a small run down government building that held little importance in politics. Slowly walking he eyed the people in the slums, the poor, the laborers, the sick and unhealthy. Cast out by the rich to live outside the cities wall’s. In fact the slums were becoming a city of their own, run by the guilds that were cast out of the city as well. The broken and scattered parts of the Thieves Guild ran the underworld. The lesser known Warlocks of Allairy were members of the Magicians guild who were cast out because they practiced the destructive art of black magic. Although they tended to be wealthy they were shunned from the great city for being “uncivilized” even though they were raised in a strict aristocratic setting. After all their was no need for death and destruction in a world filled with peace. Valen eventually reached the turning point of the slums.
He sighed heavily with relief, this was more his style of area. He looked at potential targets, just as a group of heavy white robes passed him. Clergy men. Not targets or enemies but friends to him and his kind, occasionally even life savers. He bowed graciously as they passed and they returned the favor. Again he began to set pace across the slums, although the area got nicer as the city walls grew closer, the people did not. Valen looked alert as he watched the nightlife of the slums come alive. A young women in the alleys cooing to the passersby looking for possible customers. A thug or two wandered around looking for easy prey. Then his heart skipped as he saw the crippled abbey in the distance, he tried to stay calm as he realized that his dream was about to be realized. Walking fast he noticed the marble arches fast approaching then passing behind him. They marked the entrance to the main city. To his left a large citadel towered over the estates, markets, and even the walled towers. To his right rose the wizards’ tower or the magicians’ Guild as it was commonly called, built deep into a gorge in the ground. The only way in was a large stone bridge to either side. The frightening drop that surrounded the bridge ensued certain death for all trespassers. Ahead, led to the Market district filled with the estates of the fat, wealthy merchants of the Capitol city. Through there Valen thought, is my calling. Passing through another set of marble arches that marked the exit of the city and the beginning of the slums. He made a sharp right down the first alleyway. “This is were it gets tricky,” Valen muttered under his breath.
His walk went to a trot, his trot to a steady run, as he made his way through the dark passages of what he like to call the Under City. Which consisted of the dark tunnels and mostly unknown passes that spanned the whole city, they were an ally to any who were in need or in trouble. Valen dodged passing crates, broken walls, and chunks of fallen tunnels until he arrived at the outskirts of the Abbey. Standing outside the passage, panting, he saw the Abbey in its shadow. Patiently he searched the crumbling walls of the Abbey for a foot hold. Final after several minutes fumbling in the dark he has managed to heft himself on top of, then over the stone colossus of a wall. Stumbling he made his way to the still up kept garden, flowers of all rarity and variety bloomed across its depths.
Although in the darkness he could not see his path, he knew the way, since his childhood he had hid here to escape the bleak slums. Slowly he reached the final path to the center of the jungle like maze. Valen looked around alert, only to find no one waiting so he sat on a stone bench under a dieing yew tree. The branches hung around almost hiding the bench completely from view but giving the hider plenty of room to spy on anyone else nearby. Waiting for only a few minutes, he spoke up “I am waiting.”
Immediately three figures appeared in the dark and stepped forward, two men and one woman at the lead. The woman pushed aside the falling branches of the yew tree while the two men took positions at either entrance of the mazes center. Before Valen could even utter a word the women spoke sternly interrupting him, “I assume you know why you’re here.”
Valen could only nod before she continued monotonously,” And you realize that once you come with us all ties you once held will be lost, and you will work in the guilds interests and not your own.”
Again only managing a nod she continued, “ Then you understand the terms of the invitation and if we feel you are… lacking in talent, you will be dismissed.”
“Yes I am ready for whatever challenges the guild holds for me, I pledge myself to its cause, I am ready to join the Thieves’ guild, I am ready to begin… my journey.”
At once all three of the thieves muttered in the darkness,” Then we have reached an understanding, we will contact you when we need you services, it will not be long.”
Then they simply vanished into the black midnight. Valen stood tall alone in the darkness, the moon contrasting his figure to the ground. It was his time, he achieved where his father had failed, he was to join the Guild unseen to the naked eye. To become a Thief an unknown member of the populace.

P.S. - dont know how to use the J-Cut, so anyone who can help me with that, ill gladly take it lol :D !
